This AI project focuses on Western tourists in all their glory. With oversized hats, sunscreen, and a vague sense of cultural curiosity, they set out twice a year on a quest to "experience" the world. One meticulously planned guided tour at a time.
They snap photos of food they can’t pronounce. They hike to the highest summits. Their attempts to "perform" or "blend in" often do the opposite. Whether bargaining for souvenirs in broken phrases or seeking "authentic" experiences, they end up as both consumers and spectacles.
In this project, I tried to reflect on our habits as tourists. I explored the laughable, oblivious, yet fascinating journey abroad. Where the exotic is just another accessory, and the real destination might be the souvenir shop.
